A copy will be placed on the Schoology Tech Support Page under IPADS APPS for future access. If you have not signed up for this group see information in green below.
This form is for free and paid apps that need to be added to the self-service option on the student iPads. Paid apps will need to be reviewed and approved by the technology committee and/or administration.
Every attempt will be made to complete requests as quickly as possible. All apps should be requested 1-2 weeks before anticipated lesson. Please note we must follow the format of pushing apps by grade level only. This will be the quickest and easiest process to deliver apps to students. There will be very few class exceptions where apps are installed for a single classroom/group. We will not be installing apps per student.
Some Guidelines for App Requests
Test the App on your teacher iPad first.
Make sure there are no ads or personal information collected by the app from thestudent .
Make sure the app meets your instructional goal.
Make sure it does not require an ongoing subscription. If it does, a building funding source may need to be provided.
Must qualify for VPP program. The technical dept. will check this. Apps that do not qualify can not be distributed.
New Technology Schoology Support Group:
Maria has created a new group in Schoology for Technology support. She will post updates and news items to the resources in this group throughout the year.
If you select "Resources" you will see different categories as they relate to technology. The goal is to have one place you can go to throughout the year to review tutorials, get how to's or just find info you can use throughout the year.
The code to join is:
BVRZ5-VSTC4
Technology Secretary- Coordination of iPad repairs/replacements, insurance billing/tracking, new student device issues, all fee collections and money handling. Students and parents may also make arrangements by appointment at our District Office. Our secretary will have weekly set hours in the buildings to accomplish above tasks. She will be working directly with a technician during this time. This is also a good time to send students to the media center tech office with any technical issues. (Note: hours may change to accommodate needs) Monday – Middle School 10:30 – 11:30 Tuesday - High School 12:30 –1:30 Wednesday – Middle School 10:30 – 11:30 Thursday- High School 12:30 – 11:30 Friday – ALC 10:30 -11:30
Apple Classroom
New this year from Apple is a classroom management program called Apple Classroom. The tech team has been researching this new app and linking the information with our campus data. At this time this is in beta test phase. Any teacher that would like to try this can download the classroom app from the app store. This will only work for teachers. It requires course and student rosters.
After the download the app you should see your classes and sections. Before you use this with your class,Students must have Bluetooth enabled on their iPads for you to view their devices.
Have students swipe up on the bottom of the iPad to view the control center and select the Bluetooth icon. No need to disconnect anything when students move from class to class. With the Bluetooth feature students will automatically connect to the teacher in the classroom they are scheduled in.
Note the apple TV and airplay feature shown in the video will not work in our district.
Please also note this is in beta testing only.. Please do not enter a work order for any support with this program at this time. We are making it available for staff who would like to test/try the program. More information and training will be provided at a later date.
