Activity: (WIO)

The video shows Gabriella, a seventh-grade student at the Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS) in New York City discussing her academic progress with her father at her student-led family conference. Learning targets anchor Gabriella’s reflections on her progress and it shows the role of each participant in the SLC.
Introduce the SLC Student Script. Review expectations of the activity by going through the handout and what they will have to write.
Have students use their Academic Student Self-Evaluations from each class to help form academic goals. Have students use their PBIS Self-Evaluation to help form those goals.
This will take multiple days, you will not finish scripting today.
Instruct students to keep their work in the Advisory binder.
Close the lesson We will continue to work on your script up until conferences.
